A Bugatti from Campogalliano

The EB110 came about in Campogalliano in Italy as an attempt to bring a forgotten French marque back among the supercars. The car stood on a carbon frame, had a twelve-cylinder with four turbochargers and all-wheel drive, that is, a combination nobody else offered in the first half of the 1990s. The factory lasted only a few years and the total number of cars built stayed low, which made the EB110 a subject collectors reach for again and again.

The Super Sport against the base version

The Super Sport designation does not mean merely different lettering. Against the more civil GT version it was a lightened variant with a sharper tune, meant for those who expected performance above all from a car. That is precisely why it matters with miniatures that this version is set apart in the name: the two versions differ only in details of the body and a layman would not tell them apart by shape.

Dark gray and what to do with it

The Grigio Scuro shade holds the attention at the outline rather than at the color, so what comes out on the model is above all the round rear lights and the grille over the engine. The miniature is cast in metal, painted and fitted with wheels from the factory. Nothing on it is reworked. For a collection of the 1990s it is a piece that sits among Italian and French subjects at the same time, and nobody can take that ambiguity away from it.

A subject there is little of

So few cars of this type run anywhere in the world that most of those interested know it only from photographs. The miniature is therefore in many collections the only way to have the shape of the carbon supercar from Modena within arm's reach and look it over from all sides.
