An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet AT-T heavy artillery tractor in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. It is an extensive model with a high number of parts, photo-etched sheet and a metal cable; it contains individual track links. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the box follow the enclosed instructions.
The AT-T (Artilleriyskiy Tyagach Tyazhelyy) was a Soviet heavy tracked tractor built on the components of the T-54 medium tank. It served to tow heavy guns and trailers in demanding terrain and to carry loads on its cargo bed, and it was fitted with a powerful winch. A range of derived engineer vehicles was built on its chassis. The combination of tank running gear and a cargo bed makes the AT-T a striking and unusual piece of equipment.
This is a more demanding build for more experienced modelers. Finish the running gear and assemble the individual track links before you close up the body, because once it is glued you cannot get to them. Glue the photo-etched parts with a cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and the plastic joints with a thin plastic cement. Spray the base coat over a primer in Soviet green and build up the weathering with washes in the corners and with dust and mud pigments on the running gear and the underside of the body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
