The second of the pair of Austro-Hungarian army figures on foot from Black Dog. It is sold on its own, so you can get it without the first figure if your scene needs only one soldier added. The resin casting comes without paint and without a base. The mark N°2 is Black Dog's usual way of telling the individual figures within one sub-range apart.
The equipment of a soldier of the multinational monarchy differed noticeably from that of the western armies, which is interesting for a diorama in itself. The figure can be set at an artillery position, at a field kitchen or into a view at a railway station, where civilian extras work just as well as hardware. It also serves well as an escort beside a gun or a loaded wagon, where it fills an otherwise empty spot.
Rid the casting of grease in a warm bath with a degreaser, or the base coat will not hold. Cut off the remains of the casting blocks and smooth the area with fine abrasive paper. Once the parts are joined with cyanoacrylate glue, spray the primer and only then deal with the color. Shade the face and the hands gradually, because at this scale it is the head that decides the result. Pigments on the boots and the lower hem of the coat will then link the figure visually to the groundwork.
