Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy infantry fighting vehicle T-15 in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Zvezda. It is a new tool from 2018, that is a modern kit with individual track links and well worked-out hull armor. The model is meant to be built and painted; the finished model reaches a length of around 27 cm.
The T-15 is a heavy infantry fighting vehicle derived from the universal Armata tracked platform, which Russian industry presented publicly at the parade in Moscow on May 9, 2015. Compared with earlier BMP types it has a fundamentally different layout: the power pack is moved into the front part of the hull and the troop compartment is at the rear, so that both the crew and the dismounting infantry are shielded by the mass of the engine. The vehicle carries a remotely operated turret, controlled from the protected space of the hull, and is conceived to accompany tanks in a joint formation with a comparable level of protection.
Finish the running gear and the tracks first, while the hull is accessible from all sides — once the side armor modules are glued on, the suspension arms are hard to reach. Glue the plastic with thin polystyrene cement, so that the joints do not show on the smooth armor surfaces. Apply primer before painting; it unifies the surface and reveals any scratches left by sanding. Spray the base shade with an airbrush and lighten the surfaces toward the center of the panels; the final weathering consists of a dark wash into the joints, fine chipping on the edges and dust pigments on the bottom of the hull and on the tracks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
