A British Bren light machine gun crew in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer PANZER ART. An accessory for a diorama or a display-case scene from the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item from the PANZER ART brand is devoted to a British machine gun crew from the time of the Second World War and carries the serial number two in its name. It is an accessory to a diorama or to a model of a vehicle, not a kit of equipment on its own. The 1:35 scale is the most widespread one for ground views, so the figures can be combined with equipment as well as with terrain elements from other brands.
The Bren was a British light machine gun, recognizable at first glance by the magazine mounted on top and by the bipod under the barrel. It entered service in the second half of the 1930s and was used long after 1945, because it was reliable and easy to maintain. Several men looked after the weapon, with one firing and another seeing to the magazines and to watching the surroundings.
Infantry figures of this period stand or fall by the cloth: a base in a muted green or brown tone, a darker glaze into the folds and a light lightening on the edges. Apply dust from the terrain with a fine pigment from below, so that the figure optically belongs to the scene. Finish the painting before you fix the figure to a base; this will make the work markedly easier.
