1:35 British RAC officer, North Africa, number 1 is a separate resin figure of an officer in tropical dress. It fills out a British armored vehicle in 1:35.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure in 1:35 from the PANZER ART brand. This is one particular figure from a numbered line, not a set — the marking number 1 tells the individual officer figures apart, so you can buy exactly the one your scene needs and add others later if you wish.
An officer figure works in a scene differently from a member of a crew. He is not working but directing or observing, so he usually has a more relaxed, more upright stance and becomes the natural center of gravity of the composition. It pays, therefore, not to place him in the middle but off the axis, and to let the other elements refer to him. The clothing matches a North African setting: a light tropical cut, loose, with light fabric. Light fabric is treacherous — it has little contrast of its own, so without careful shading it looks like a sheet of paper. Build it from a mid layer, lighten the edges of the folds only slightly and lead the shadow with a thin glaze several times over rather than with one dark stroke. Bare arms and a neck mean that the skin will carry a large part of the impression, and against light fabric you need to shade it rather more markedly, or they will merge.
Wash the figure in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, cut the casting block off with a saw or a disc, sand wet and with breathing protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and the gaps are filled and sanded. Choose a light primer, as a dark one would pull the shade of the tropical fabric down. For the finish do not forget the dust: a desert scene is recognized above all by a fine light deposit on the footwear, the bottom of the trouser legs and in the folds. Apply it with pigment dry and only enough for the difference between a dusted hem and a clean upper part of the figure to show.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
