An unassembled plastic kit of the British heavy artillery tractor Scammell Pioneer R100 in 1:35 scale, completed by a model of the 7.2 inch howitzer. The set contains photo-etched parts, a chain, string and a decal sheet; according to the manufacturer it also offers a well worked-out engine and an openable cab. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
The Scammell Pioneer was a British heavy tractor with 6x4 drive which in the Second World War served as an artillery tractor, a recovery vehicle and a tank transporter. It was powered by a Gardner six-cylinder diesel. The R100 version was used mainly to tow heavy guns, among them the 7.2 inch howitzer, rebuilt from older 8 inch pieces.
Assemble and paint the engine and the chassis before the body is closed up. Glue the photo-etched parts with super glue and the plastic with thin cement for plastic. We recommend a primer and an airbrush; the broken-up tractor and the gun alike will appreciate washes in the recesses and dust pigments for weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
