An injection-molded plastic model of the British light tracked carrier Universal Carrier Mk.II in the reconnaissance version (Forced Reconnaissance) in 1:35 scale from the Tamiya brand. The set faithfully captures the compact shape of the hull, the running gear and the equipment of the vehicle, and it usually comes with crew figures and a set of decals for various theaters, including North Africa, Italy and France. Typical British weapons such as the Bren gun are part of the equipment.
The Universal Carrier, often also called the Bren Carrier, was a British light tracked carrier developed in the 1930s and committed on a massive scale in the Second World War. Thanks to its low silhouette, agility and versatility it became one of the most numerously produced armored vehicles in history. It carried troops and supplies, ran reconnaissance and also served as a weapons carrier. The Mk.II version was one of the later production variants of this all-purpose machine.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic. First assemble and paint the running gear and the inside of the open hull, and only then put the whole together. Lay a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin layers; British khaki or desert schemes reward emphasis on the detail with a wash and the use of dust and mud effects with pigments. Paint the crew figures separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
