This injection-molded plastic kit from Trumpeter captures the Canadian AVGP Cougar wheeled vehicle in its early form, in 1:35 scale. The model holds several sprues of plastic parts, clear parts, rubber tires and a smaller photo-etched item. The kit is meant to be assembled and painted.
The AVGP (Armoured Vehicle General Purpose) is a series of Canadian six-wheeled (6x6) vehicles built on the proven MOWAG Piranha chassis. The Cougar is the fire support version fitted with a turret and a gun, which with the Canadian armed forces complemented the transport and recovery versions of the same family, the Grizzly and the Husky. The vehicle was valued for its good mobility and was committed on foreign missions as well. The early form matches the earlier appearance of the vehicle.
Assemble the chassis and the running gear first, and only then close the hull and fit the turret. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, apply a base color and lay the final shade on with an airbrush. The look will be brought out by washes into the recesses and dust pigments on the tires and the underside.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
