A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the CH-54A heavy transport helicopter in 1:35 scale. It adds the details that cannot be made in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The CH-54A is an American heavy transport helicopter with the nickname Skycrane. It has no cargo compartment in the usual sense: the fuselage is narrowed to a load-bearing spine with the cockpit at the front and with tall, widely splayed landing gear, so a load slung from a hoist, or a detachable container, fits underneath it. In the cockpit there is also a rear-facing station from which one crew member watches the load and controls the lifting. The helicopter was used for carrying heavy loads, for recovering crashed equipment and for construction work.
Photo-etched parts for a CH-54A model in 1:35 scale. Photo-etch suits everywhere the plastic part is too thick for its thickness: on grilles, clips, brackets, belt buckles and fine faces with relief. Which parts of the model the set completes and which kit it is listed for is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a firm smooth surface; never break them out, because they will twist. Run the bends along the marked groove: best in a bending tool, otherwise press the part with a straight blade against a rule and bend it in one movement. They are bonded with super glue; cement for plastic models does not hold on metal. Degrease the parts before painting and apply a base coat, otherwise the layer will peel off the smooth surface at the first touch. Small parts are easier to paint while still on the fret and to touch up once glued on.
A set of photo-etched parts is supplied. The model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
