A loader of the crew of the 155 mm M777 howitzer in 1:35 scale - a single resin figure from the Ukrainian brand Spalah for a diorama with an artillery position.
Responsibility details are not available.
The single figure represents a member of the crew whose task is to put the shell into the chamber. The name gives one piece and a scale of 1:35, that is the size usual for a diorama with vehicles and equipment. Behind the brand stands the Ukrainian maker Spalah, which concentrates on small diorama accessories and on figures of present-day artillery.
The loader works right at the mouth of the chamber: he takes the shell, pushes it in and steps out of the path of the recoil in time. At a caliber of 155 mm this is a physically demanding task, which the build of the figure matches. The M777 is a light towed howitzer with a large share of titanium in the structure of its carriage, and because the crew often deploys it in an improvised position, a scene with several figures looks more natural than a gun on its own.
Before building, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and remove the remains of the supports. Super glue holds the joints best. After spraying the primer it pays to build the uniform up from a darker tone toward lighter edges of the folds; the face comes out with glazes of oil paints. A final matte varnish evens out a surface through which the sheen of the resin would otherwise show.
The figure is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a base are not part of the box.
