An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Churchill Gun Carrier vehicle with the 3-inch (76.2 mm) 20 CWT gun in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. The model is supplied unassembled and is meant to be glued and painted; depending on the edition the set holds additional detail and markings as well.
The Churchill Gun Carrier (A22D) was a British attempt to place the 3-inch 20 CWT gun in a fixed superstructure on the chassis of the Churchill infantry tank. The gun used grew out of a weapon originally built for anti-aircraft use and was installed in the front of the hull with no rotating turret. Only a small number of these vehicles came about, and they stayed largely with training and auxiliary duties.
First assemble the running gear with the tracks led around the hull, and then deal with the fixed superstructure and its gun. Glue the plastic with thin cement, apply primer and lay the shade and the markings on with an airbrush. Finish the surface with washes and pigments to suggest dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
