A resin scenic accessory from the range of the Spanish brand MIG productions. It is not a vehicle kit but an element of the setting with which a diorama, a display case or a base under a finished model in 1:35 scale is fitted out. The casting carries the texture of concrete with its unevenness and chipped edges, so after painting it reads as a real road section rather than as a smooth box.
Jersey barriers have a characteristic profile with a sloped lower part, which turns the wheel of a vehicle back into its lane. In reality they are used to separate lanes, to channel traffic on detours and to secure entrances and checkpoints. In a diorama they manage three things at once: they close the scene off, they lead the viewer's eye and they give the vehicle a clear scale. They come into their own with models of modern military and police equipment, in an urban setting, at road construction and as a simple divider on a narrow base.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut off the casting blocks, sand the surfaces and protect your airways while sanding resin. Concrete is best painted from a light gray base, which is broken up with a light spray of several close shades so that the surface does not read as uniform. Bring out the recesses and the joints with a dark wash and go over the edges carefully with a dry brush. Realism is helped by indicating damp patches, rust marks from the embedded reinforcement and dust at the foot of the barrier. You can settle them onto the base with cyanoacrylate glue or sink them into a layer of modeling paste, so that the barrier does not stand on the surface but in the terrain.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
