An injection-molded plastic kit of the Danish Leopard 2A5DK main battle tank in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The box contains parts in gray plastic, a photo-etched part and a decal sheet. It is the Danish upgraded variant, which is worth telling apart from the basic German Leopard 2A5/A6.
The Leopard 2A5DK is the Danish version of the German Leopard 2A5 tank, which the Danish army brought into service after taking the vehicles over from German stocks and adapting them to the national standard. Compared with the basic 2A5 it received additional armor, among other things protection of the hull floor against mines, a modified arrangement of the external stowage and other small changes matching Danish practice. It keeps the wedge-shaped add-on armor on the front of the turret and the 120 mm gun that are characteristic of the Leopard 2A5 family.
First assemble the running gear and the road wheels, and only then close the hull and the turret. Paint and weather the tracks before fitting them. Danish vehicles typically wear the NATO three-color camouflage; bring out the panel lines and the details with a dark wash and apply dust and mud pigments to the running gear and the lower areas for faithful weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
