Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese mobile launcher of the DF-21 ballistic missile in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The set captures the combination of the missile itself and the TEL carrier vehicle (a tractor, a semitrailer with an erector and a launch platform). Decals for Chinese army markings are included. It is a sizable model of modern equipment.
The DF-21 is a Chinese medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) - the first Chinese land-based missile of this category. It is carried and launched from a mobile TEL vehicle (Transporter Erector Launcher) made up of a tractor, a semitrailer with a lifting mechanism and a launch platform. Mobility increases the resilience of the system, because it can be moved and launched from various places. The missile entered service in the early 1990s.
Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement. First finish the chassis and the mechanism of the semitrailer - the model makes it possible to build the vehicle with the missile in the travel or the erected (launch) position, so plan the sequence in advance. The large smooth surfaces of the missile and the superstructures need a carefully sanded and sprayed base - every defect stands out over a large area; an airbrush and soft transitions are ideal. Modern vehicles will not take as much weathering as wartime tanks: rely rather on light highlighting of the panel lines, discreet dust and clean, legible modern markings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
