A wrecked town is one of the settings military vehicles are placed in most often. A street after an air raid brings paving, rubble and the remains of buildings together into a scene that tells its own story while still holding the viewer's eye on the model in the middle. A damaged surface offers plenty of places for dust, rubble and traces of traffic.
A base for a 1:35 scale diorama with the subject of a bombed-out street. It is prepared groundwork for a scene, so there is no need to cut a board or model the paving and the rubble from scratch. The exact dimensions and composition are given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Wash the base before painting and let it dry thoroughly so that the paint holds evenly. Cut away excess material and traces of manufacture with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the area. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Paving suits several close shades of gray applied unevenly so that the stones do not look uniform; a dark wash then brings out the joints and a dry brush the edges. Spread dust and grit where they would naturally gather, that is along the walls and in the hollows.
For modelers who want to set a tank, an armored personnel carrier or figures in 1:35 scale into city fighting, and for exhibitors who need a scene prepared quickly for a competition or a display case.
Vehicle models, figures, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
