A kit in 1:35 scale based on the German design for an anti-aircraft vehicle on the E-100 chassis with the Rheintochter I guided missile. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The E-100 belonged to the series of German development chassis of the end of the Second World War and was the heaviest of them. By the end of the fighting only a partly built hull existed, not one completed machine. Rheintochter I is the designation of a surface-to-air guided missile tested in Germany at the same time, which never entered service. Joining the two together into a single anti-aircraft vehicle remained at the design stage, and no such machine was built.
The model therefore rests on a design, not on a surviving vehicle. That has two practical sides for the build. For one thing, there is no point comparing the shapes with period photographs, because none exist. For another, nobody is prescribing a single correct finish: the choice of scheme and markings is a matter of your own judgement, and late German combinations are the usual choice. The large hull and the launch gear give plenty of unbroken surface on which work with shades will stand out.
Before gluing, remove excess material and production marks from the parts, sand the mating surfaces and dry-fit the assembly. The running gear and the lower hull are more comfortable to paint before final assembly. Keep the launch gear and the missile itself removable for as long as possible; they are easier to reach with a brush and with an airbrush that way. Build the large surfaces up in thin layers: first the base shade, then accentuation of the edges, and only at the end dust and traces of use.
The paints, glue, filler and accessory sets are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
