The Flak 43, the German 3.7 cm anti-aircraft gun 1:35 (Trumpeter), is a plastic kit of the upgraded anti-aircraft gun, above the lighter 2 cm Flak 38 in performance as well as in caliber.

This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter represents the German 3.7 cm Flak 43 anti-aircraft gun. The box contains parts on several sprues, a photo-etched part for fine detail and a decal sheet. The model can be built with the carriage spread in the firing position, including the shield, the sight and the elevation and traverse mechanism.
The Flak 43 of 37 mm caliber was a markedly upgraded successor to the older 3.7 cm guns of the Flak 18/36/37 family. A new gas-operated breech raised the practical rate of fire, while the gun was lighter and simpler to produce. Compared with the small 2 cm Flak 38 it is a heavier and more powerful weapon with greater range and effect, so do not confuse the two guns: the Flak 38 is 20 mm caliber, the Flak 43 is 37 mm caliber and a newer design.
This is a gun, not a vehicle, so line up the fine parts of the carriage, the shield and the sight carefully. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic and spray the barrel and the mechanisms with an airbrush once the primer is on. You bring out the metal surfaces with a dark wash and a dry brush, and suggest dust and wear with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
