The German 17cm Kanone 18 in 1:35 scale from the Trumpeter brand - a plastic kit of the heavy gun with its characteristic double-recoil carriage.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the heavy corps gun, the 17cm Kanone 18. The model in 1:35 scale captures the massive double-recoil carriage, the traversing firing platform and the transport configuration. The assembly is usually supplemented by photo-etched parts, rubber tires, metal springs and a metal gun barrel; the exact contents follow the particular edition.
The German army introduced the heavy 17cm K 18 gun from 1941 for counter-battery fire at corps level, and with a range of almost 30 kilometers it outclassed most contemporary weapons. Characteristic was the double-recoil system, in which the barrel and the whole cradle traveled back along the bed - this markedly damped the movement on firing and increased accuracy. It shared the same carriage with the 21cm Mörser 18 mortar.
Work from the bed and the running gear to the carriage and finally to the barrel; make sure the wheels and springs are correctly aligned so that the gun stands level. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting and spray the base color with an airbrush. The large carriage surfaces are brought to life by a wash in the recesses and dust pigments on the lower parts and the wheels, which suggest use in the field. Paint the rubber tires and the metal gun barrel separately and fit them only at the end. Use a sharp knife when cleaning the parts of their sprue stubs so that the fine elements of the carriage stay untouched.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
