A small set of markings in 1:35 scale intended for finishing figures and their kit. It is not a kit and not a figure, but an accessory for the modeler who has figures painted and needs to put an emblem on a helmet more accurately than a brush can manage. Painting by hand at this scale is a lottery: the motif is smaller than a millimeter and one unsteady stroke means repainting the whole helmet.
The emblems are applied to the helmets of figures, or to kit set down in a scene. The set also suits cases where you are building several figures at once and need the markings to look the same on all of them. Given the size of the motifs, count on working under a magnifier or with good lighting.
First finish the helmet with paint and varnish the place where the emblem will go with gloss varnish, otherwise a matte edge will appear under it. Cut the motif as tightly as possible, transfer it onto a damp surface and move it into place with a brush rather than tweezers, so that it does not crumple. Because the helmet is rounded, a softener in two thin coats helps and lets the marking follow the shape. Finally unify the whole figure with matte varnish. Realism benefits if, once dry, you tone the emblem down slightly with a thinned dark wash; on worn kit it never looked new.
The set contains markings only. Figures, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
