The Trumpeter 1:35 German Krupp Steyr Waffenträger is a plastic kit of the German prototype weapon carrier of the Second World War period, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Trumpeter captures the German Krupp Steyr Waffenträger weapon carrier with an anti-tank gun of 88 mm caliber, in 1:35 scale. The model holds several sprues of plastic parts, photo-etched items, a metal barrel and individual track links. The kit is meant to be assembled and painted.
The Waffenträger (weapon carrier) was a German late-war concept of a lightly armored tracked chassis carrying a gun that could also be taken off the vehicle. The design by the Krupp and Steyr firms allowed for an anti-tank gun of 88 mm caliber. It was a prototype construction of the end of the Second World War that never reached extensive series production. The aim was to give mobile artillery support at the lowest possible weight.
Assembling the individual track links calls for patience; follow the instructions and put the tracks together on a flat surface. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, and degrease the metal barrel before spraying and apply a base color. Lay the final shade on with an airbrush, and washes and dust pigments will complete the weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
