1:35 German Mounted Officer is a figure of a German mounted officer in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer PANZER ART.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item of the PANZER ART figure series treats an officer of a cavalry division of the time of the Second World War; the name Florian Geyer, which the unit carried, is stated in the name itself. From a rank-and-file cavalryman such figures differ above all in the posture of the body and in the cut of the equipment. Whether a horse belongs with the figure, the name does not state.
An officer figure fills a different role in a diorama from the soldiers: it tends to be the still point of the composition, toward which the other figures turn. If you are building a scene with several figures, it pays to lay it out from this one and only then to place the rest. A small change of the tilt of the head at the same time decides whether the result comes across as concentrated or as stiff.
On an officer the viewer notices the face and the hands first, so devote the most time and the finest brush to them. Set the uniform off against the ordinary troops with a somewhat more saturated and smoother tone, polish the leather elements with a light sheen and leave the rest matte. Repaint small facets with thinned layers, not with thick paint at once, otherwise the fine relief is filled in. Finally balance the face so that it is not lighter than the surrounding scene.
The painting and the placing into a scene stay fully in the builder's hands.
