Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the KV-2 heavy tank in the form captured and committed by the German army, in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the massive tall turret with its large-caliber howitzer and the German modifications, such as the commander's cupola and the stowage baskets for ammunition. The package holds richly broken-up plastic parts and a choice of tracks.
The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy tank derived from the KV-1, which carried a markedly larger turret with a howitzer of 152 mm caliber intended to destroy fortifications. A number of these machines were captured by the German army, which committed some of them under the designation Pz.Kpfw. KV-2 754(r). Captured vehicles were given German additions, among them a commander's cupola taken over from German tanks and stowage baskets for ammunition at the rear. The real subject is characterized by an unusually tall and angular turret, which makes the tank one of the most conspicuous machines of its day.
Start with the running gear and then concentrate on the large turret and its fittings. Use thin cement for plastic, assemble and paint the individual track links before fitting them, apply a primer and spray with an airbrush. Captured machines as a rule wore German shades and pronounced recognition crosses; present the history of the vehicle factually. Dark washes and dust pigments will add the weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
