An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Jagdpanther Ausf.G1 (Sd.Kfz.173) tank destroyer in 1:35 scale from the maker Academy. The model offers two variants of the gun barrel, photo-etched parts and link-and-length tracks. It captures the characteristic low armored superstructure and the smooth welded plates. Check the exact contents of the package and the markings against the details on the box.
The Jagdpanther was a German heavy tank destroyer built on the chassis of the Panther tank. It combined good armor with the powerful 88 mm Pak 43 gun, which was able to destroy Allied tanks at long range. The Ausf.G1 version belonged to the early production series. The vehicle was fielded in the second half of the war on the Western as well as the Eastern Front and is one of the popular and impressive subjects.
Assemble and paint the link-and-length tracks and the running gear before the hull is finished. Glue the parts with a liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Late-war German machines carried multicolor camouflage schemes and also the anti-magnetic coating (Zimmerit) — after the paint has been sprayed on, emphasize the details with a wash and add dust and mud effects with pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
