1:35 German SS soldier eating - WWII is a resin figure of a German soldier at a meal, intended to bring dioramas to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
The resin casting captures a German soldier of the Waffen SS at the moment he is eating. Genre poses of this kind are among the most valuable things that can be added to a military diorama, because they populate the scene at once and give it everyday life.
Food was issued from field kitchens, carried up to the positions in insulated containers and supplemented by iron rations from cans. A mess tin, a bread bag and a spoon tucked into the boot were part of the kit a soldier carried with him all the time. A scene with a meal therefore suits a kitchen, a resting crew and a sentry just relieved from his post. Historians point out that food supply decided the fighting capacity of units as much as ammunition did.
Free the casting of mold release agent in a soapy bath and remove the casting remains with a sharp knife drawn away from the surface. Choose the dress according to the scene you are building: for an ordinary field version gray-green will do, while camouflage patterns are painted from the lightest color to the darkest and the patches are drawn small, otherwise they merge at this scale. Complete the metal parts of the mess gear with a dark wash and a hint of worn edges. Leave the hands and the face until last, because they are exactly what decides whether the scene looks natural.
