German tankers passing ammunition, a 1:35 set. The subject of resupplying a heavy tank away from combat. From the Dynamo-Models range.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of figures of German tankers caught passing shells into a tank, 1:35 scale, made by Dynamo-Models. The Set designation in the name distinguishes the package from the individually sold figures of the same subject.
Replenishing ammunition on a heavy tank was physically demanding work away from combat. Shells were passed one by one across the hull or through the turret hatch, and the crew took off part of their equipment and worked in overalls. A pose with outstretched arms and the body slightly crouched is typical of this tableau and suits a model of a heavy tank better than a figure standing to attention. A resupply scene also makes it possible to show the inside of an open hatch and other details that would otherwise stay hidden.
Do not mix the dark overalls toward black, otherwise all the folds will disappear. Start from a dark gray and brighten the edges by two steps, and only then add the darkest shadow. Paint the shells separately; a brass cartridge case against a painted projectile gives the scene contrast and draws the eye. Leave the hands darker and dirtier than the face; work with ammunition shows. Overalls will also take greasy patches, which you suggest with spots of sheen on an otherwise matte surface.
