Uniform decals 1:35 - Flak units, part 3: a sheet of waterslide decals for marking the uniforms of figures. It is applied to a finished, painted figure, not to a kit.

A decal set for figures in 1:35 scale focused on the insignia of the uniforms worn by the German anti-aircraft units (Flak) during the Second World War. It is not a set of figures or a kit: in the package there is a sheet of decals, which is applied only to a finished figure that is built and painted. The series is divided into several separately sold parts and this is part 3.
Check exactly what the sheet carries, in what quantity and how the individual parts of the series differ against the illustration on the packaging.
It is an accessory for the final phase of the work, not a part that would be built. It goes on only once the figure is finished, and the difference is visible immediately: what was until then only an area of color gains a legible detail. Working with it is quick, and what decides the outcome is the quality of the base and patience, not skill with a fine brush.
Before applying them, give the figure a smooth glossy base. You do not have to spray gloss varnish everywhere; an area somewhat larger than the decal itself is enough. Cut the design out close to the printing and let it soak briefly in lukewarm water, until it starts to move on the paper. Then slide it into place, straighten it with a soft brush and draw the excess water off with a towel.
Wrinkled parts of a uniform call for a softener: it is applied to the laid decal and left to work in peace. Do not try to smooth the film during that time, as it would be damaged. Once everything has dried, go over the figure with matte varnish; it unifies the sheen and hides the edge of the carrier film, so that the insignia merges with the cloth of the uniform.
The package contains decals only. Figures, paints, varnish and softener are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
