1:35 Historic Costume Girl JGSDF HMV With Figure Hinata

The subject

The figure carries the name Hinata and belongs to a range the manufacturer designates as Historic Costume Girl. The subject joins a civilian conception of a girl with equipment of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, specifically with a vehicle listed under the abbreviation HMV. Figures like this are used to bring a scene around a vehicle model to life: they give it a sense of scale that is hard to reach with a machine displayed on its own, and they make it possible to set up a small situation instead of a merely static display.

What the set contains

A set with the figure Hinata in 1:35 scale. The exact extent of the delivery, that is the number of parts of the figure and what else is in the package, is given in the manufacturer's instructions and in the information on the box. The 1:35 scale is the most widespread for figures to go with vehicles, so the figure matches ordinary kits of ground equipment in the same scale in size.

Building and painting tips

Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the surface. Glue the joints with a cement appropriate to the material of the parts. On a figure it is above all the face and the hands that decide: start with the base shade of the skin, tune the shadows and transitions with a glaze and let every layer dry. Paint the eyes with the finest brush you dare and preferably in several goes. At the end match the figure in color to its surroundings in the scene, so that it really belongs with the vehicle model.
