The opening part of a range devoted to Iranian tanks and armored vehicles. According to the name it concentrates on the regular army of Iran in the period of the war between Iraq and Iran in the 1980s. The package holds markings for a finished model, not the vehicle itself.
The Iranian tank park of that time came about from deliveries from various countries, so machines of both Western and Eastern provenance served side by side. The conflict played out predominantly on the flat, desert border between the two states and for armored units it was characterized by long moves and deployment in open terrain. Markings from this period therefore make a suitable accessory for models that fall outside the ordinary German or American theme.
Vehicles from this setting tend to be modeled in pale desert shades and with a pronounced layer of dust. Dust is exactly the reason why it pays to apply the decals before you set about the patina. Varnish the base to a gloss first, seat the markings and let them dry overnight. Only then come the pigments and the dust coats, which you let carry over the edges of the designs. On the rounded surfaces of the turret work in smaller sections, so that a decal does not wrinkle.
