A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the German Jagdpanther G2 tank destroyer from Rye Field Model. The kit offers a fully rendered inside of the hull and the fighting compartment and workable, assemblable track links. Photo-etched parts and clear parts are included, thanks to which the interior is visible once the model is finished. It is an extensive and fairly demanding kit aimed rather at more experienced modelers.
The Jagdpanther was among the most highly regarded German tank destroyers of the Second World War. It was based on the chassis of the Panther tank and in a fixed casemate it carried a powerful 88 mm gun with a long barrel, able to destroy Allied tanks at great range. The G2 version corresponds to the later production form with partial changes to the hull and the equipment. The vehicle combined heavy firepower with good mobility.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the whole interior, while they are still easy to reach, because once the hull is closed you will not get to them. Assemble the workable tracks patiently, link by link. For the weathering use dark washes into the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear and the underside. Open hatches let the work on the inside show.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
