A plastic kit of the main battle tank Type 61 of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in 1:35 scale from the Japanese brand FineMolds. The model represents the first tank developed and built in postwar Japan, with its characteristic turret and long gun. It offers faithful shapes for the hull, the turret and the running gear.
The Type 61 was the first home-built tank of postwar Japan. It served with the Ground Self-Defense Force from 1961 and was produced until roughly the middle of the 1970s. It carried a 90 mm gun, was powered by a diesel engine and followed the American tank thinking of the day in its concept without being a direct copy.
On a tank, assemble and paint the running gear before closing up the hull. Use liquid cement for plastic, treat the surface with a base coat and apply the colors with an airbrush. The uniform olive camouflage comes to life with accented panels, washes and fine dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
