Japanese steel pillbox 1:35 from Hauler is a resin model of a prefabricated Japanese fortification of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin model of a Japanese steel pillbox in 1:35 scale from Hauler. The set usually combines cast resin parts with a photo-etched fret and serves as a fortification for dioramas in a larger scale. It is not a vehicle or an airplane but a static scenic object which completes a scene of the Pacific and Asian theater.
Japanese steel pillboxes were prefabricated, usually hexagonal structures welded from steel plates. Japanese troops committed them mainly for beach defense and it was usual to bank the outside with sand or to camouflage it with palm fronds. The embrasures made it possible to cover the approach routes and the shore against an advancing enemy.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off; bend the photo-etched parts over an edge. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and sand with respiratory protection. We recommend a primer, then rust, peeling paint and sand deposits created with washes, pigments and texture pastes. The larger 1:35 scale allows a finer patina.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
