A model of a truck of the German designation LKW in the seven-ton class in the dump-truck form, in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The abbreviation LKW comes from the German word for a truck, and the number after it gives the class of the vehicle by payload, in this case seven tons. The dump-truck form has a tipping bed instead of a fixed one, which lifts at the rear and tips the load out under its own weight. Vehicles like this carry bulk material, gravel and soil and belong to the kind of hardware you see everywhere something is being built, repaired or set up as field infrastructure. Compared with a flatbed you will recognize a dump truck by its higher side panels, the sturdy frame under the bed and the strengthened rear overhang.
A truck is a rewarding build, because it has large flat areas on which wear comes out well and at the same time plenty of small details such as running boards, mirrors, fenders and headlights. In 1:35 scale it suits a diorama with figures and with loads you can pour into the bed yourself. The cab can be built with the doors open to show the interior.
Paint the cab from the inside before you close it up; afterwards a brush will no longer reach in. Finish the frame and the axles as the first assembly, and only then seat the bed and the cab on them. Fit the wheels so that the flattening of the tire points at the ground, otherwise the vehicle will visually hop. Keep dust and mud going from the bottom upward: most of it belongs on the wheels, the fenders and the underside of the bed, and almost none on the roof of the cab.
For builders of ground hardware and dioramas in 1:35 scale. Paints, glue and a load for the bed are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
