The model can be built in the firing or the travel position and offers a well-developed carriage with a movable recoil mechanism. It is an artillery piece, not a vehicle. The kit is meant to be glued and painted.
The 155 mm M1 gun, later designated M59 and nicknamed the Long Tom, was an American heavy field gun developed as a replacement for the older French 155 mm gun. It stood out for its long range and was used as heavy fire support in the Second World War and in the Korean War. It was towed by a heavy artillery tractor and rested on a split trail carriage for firing. For its accuracy and range it was one of the most effective pieces of American heavy artillery and remained in service with a number of armies long after the Second World War.
Assemble the wheeled carriage and the split trail according to the position you choose (firing or travel); decide before gluing, because the setting of the trails differs. Use liquid cement for plastic, primer and an airbrush; a uniform olive green finish of American equipment suits it. Weathering is created with a dark wash, and dust and mud with pigments on the rubber wheels and the lower part of the carriage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
