A photo-etched set in 1:35 scale for a model of the American M113 armored personnel carrier. The metal parts replace the plastic ones where those come out too thick.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M113 is an American tracked armored personnel carrier from the early 1960s. Its hull is welded from aluminum alloy, so the vehicle stayed light and able to ford water, and the crew and the troops get out through a drop ramp at the rear. It served in Vietnam, spread to dozens of armies and became the basis for a whole family of derived vehicles, from mortar carriers to command and ambulance versions. For a modeler it is a rewarding subject for the amount of small equipment on the sides and the roof of the hull.
A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model in 1:35 scale. Photo-etch suits exactly those places where the real subject takes the form of thin sheet, a grille or a bracket: a plastic part comes out at a disproportionate thickness there, whereas metal sheet matches the scale. The extent of the set and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts off with a sharp blade against a hard surface, do not break them out, and sand the remains of the tab. Make the bends over a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, and check longer sheets against a ruler after bending; once a metal part is twisted you will not straighten it out on the model again. Metal holds with super glue, not with cement for polystyrene. Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and go over them with a primer, otherwise the coat will peel off during assembly.
This is an accessory to a model. Paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
