This is a modeling accessory, not a model in its own right. The set holds individual assemblable track links cast in white metal, which are joined with the enclosed wire into a working track. It reproduces the T-154 type of track with rubber blocks. Metal tracks replace the plastic or vinyl tracks from an ordinary kit and give a realistic weight and sag.
The M108 and the M109 are American self-propelled howitzers on a common tracked chassis; the upgraded M109A6 version is known as the Paladin. The vehicles use the T-154 type of track with rubber blocks, which this set reproduces faithfully.
The links are cleaned of casting remains, assembled with the enclosed wire and can be left to sag slightly. The metal is treated with a primer before painting, and the tracks are then painted and weathered; the rubber blocks can be set apart with a darker shade.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a model in its own right. It does not hold the vehicle, glue or paints.
