Metal track links 1:35 for the M109 (German tracks) are a set of assemblable tracks in white metal for the self-propelled howitzer in German service.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a modeling accessory, not a model in its own right. The set holds individual track links cast in white metal, which are assembled into a working track by joining them with the enclosed wire. These are the type of tracks used on the M109 howitzer in German service. Metal tracks replace the plastic or vinyl tracks from an ordinary kit and give a realistic weight and sag.
The M109 is a self-propelled 155 mm howitzer, one of the most widely used tracked artillery vehicles of Western armies. In the German Bundeswehr it served for long decades and used its own type of track link, which this set reproduces faithfully.
The links are cleaned of casting remains, assembled with the enclosed wire and can be left to sag slightly. The metal is treated with a primer before painting, and the tracks are then painted and weathered with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a model in its own right. It does not hold the vehicle, glue or paints.
