Rye Field Model comes out with an accessory that had long been missing from the shelves: a kit of its own for the trailers that American units routinely hitch behind HMMWV and JLTV vehicles. One box lets you build both forms, because they differ mainly in the suspension and the load rating. According to the manufacturer, the box holds photo-etched and clear parts, decals with US military markings and an optional position for the drop-down tailgate.
The M1101 is the basic light tactical trailer, while the M1102 was given strengthened suspension for a heavier load. Both serve to carry ammunition, materiel, generators and medical equipment, and off road they match the track of the towing vehicle. You meet them with convoys, at field positions and with contingents far from their home bases.
Assemble the frame and the axle on a flat board so that the trailer stands firmly on both wheels. You can add a tarpaulin or a load from your own stock, because the trailer itself is a rewarding carrier for a scene. Choose the shade according to the vehicle you hitch it to, so that the colors do not clash. Apply dust and mud from the bottom upward and keep the transition soft, otherwise the weathering will look stuck on.
The trailer arrives in the form of sprues and needs assembling and painting; glue, paints and accessories are sold separately.
