Small armament decides whether a scene looks credible. This item offers a reduction of the American M14E2 automatic rifle in the size usual for figures and military equipment. The count of pieces is written in the name; the material, the weight and the dimension of an individual part are not given in it, so they are not stated here either.
The M14E2 came about in the nineteen sixties of the twentieth century by altering the standard M14 rifle for firing in bursts. It differed from the base version by a straight stock with a pistol grip, a folding foregrip, a bipod and a muzzle brake, which were to tame the rise of the barrel. For this variant the designation M14A1 later settled. The silhouette is thanks to that different from an ordinary rifle at first glance and is recognizable in a diorama even without a magnifier.
The thin parts of the weapon are fragile, so separate them with a sharp scalpel and level the sprue nubs with a file of fine grain. Degrease the part before painting. A dark base proves itself, on which the metallic sheen of the edges is lightly suggested with a dry brush; then lift the stock with a warmer brown tone. A weapon put into the hands of a figure usually needs a slight sanding of the palms so that it sits naturally.
