An injection-molded plastic kit of the American medium tank M4A3 Sherman in the version with the 105 mm howitzer in 1:35 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The model captures the support variant of the Sherman with a welded hull and a cast turret, in which a short 105 mm howitzer for infantry fire support is mounted instead of an anti-tank gun. The M4A3 with the 105 mm howitzer came about as an assault support version of the Sherman. Instead of a 75 or 76 mm gun it carried a short howitzer of 105 mm caliber, meant to destroy fortifications, machine gun nests and soft targets by direct and indirect fire alike. It was powered by a Ford GAA gasoline V8. Vehicles of this type accompanied the infantry in the advance across Europe from the summer of 1944 and supplemented the firepower of ordinary Shermans.
First assemble and paint the running gear (the wheels, the VVSS suspension) and the interior elements before you close up the hull. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the joints. After spraying the base coat and the olive green camouflage, bring out the rivets and the panel lines with a dark wash and add dust and mud effects in pigments to the running gear and the lower hull.
