A detailed plastic kit of the American M551 Sheridan light tank from RYE FIELD MODEL in 1:35 scale. The set is designed as a 2 in 1 and makes it possible to build either the M551A1 variant or the modernized M551A1 with the thermal sight (TTS). It contains a clear part, photo-etched parts and decals; the tracks use the proven link and length method, that is a combination of individual links and longer runs.
The M551 Sheridan was a light amphibious reconnaissance and airborne tank of the US Army introduced at the end of the 1960s. It had an aluminum hull and a large 152 mm gun/launcher capable of firing guided missiles as well. It was deployed among other places in Vietnam; the M551A1 version brought a laser rangefinder and a ballistic computer, and the TTS configuration added a thermal night sight.
With military vehicles, first finish the running gear and any interior, and only then close up the hull. Fit the link and length tracks with the correct sag in mind. For a faithful look use matte shades, followed by washes and pigments to bring out the details and to add dust or mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
