A detailed plastic kit of the American M60A2 Patton tank in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. The M60A2 version earned the nickname Starship thanks to technology that was advanced for its day and to an unusual low turret. The package contains photo-etched parts for fine detail. The model will appeal to those interested in Cold War armored vehicles and offers an interesting alternative to the more common Patton variants.
The M60A2 was an unusual variant of the American M60 tank with a new narrow turret and a 152 mm gun system able to fire both conventional ammunition and a guided anti-tank missile. It was precisely the advanced electronics and fire control that earned the vehicle the nickname Starship. It was a technically ambitious but operationally demanding type that served in the Cold War era.
Finish the running gear and the details of the turret before you close the hull. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Cold War camouflage comes out well with an airbrush and masking, and the details can be accentuated with washes and dry brushing. Dust and mud pigments will add realistic weathering. Apply the decals over a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
