Injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli main battle tank Merkava in 1:35 scale from Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli main battle tank Merkava in 1:35 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The model captures the original generation of the Merkava with the 105 mm gun, that is, an earlier configuration than the later Mk.III version from other manufacturers. It is an older, proven tooling with rubber tracks, a turning turret, a protective net and a choice of open or closed hatches; a commander figure is usually included with it. Check the exact contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Merkava is the main battle tank of the Israel Defense Forces, whose design puts the emphasis on protecting the crew. The engine is mounted at the front and forms additional protection, and at the rear there is a compartment for the crew to get in. The original generation carried a 105 mm rifled gun and became known in the fighting of the early 1980s, where it proved itself against the Soviet tanks of the day. Its characteristic features are the wedge-shaped cast form of the turret and the sloped arrangement of the armor.
Assemble and paint the running gear before the side skirts cover it over. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Israeli equipment wears the typical desert gray (Sinai) shade, which you can bring to life after spraying with a wash, emphasis on the edges and fine dust pigments on the running gear. Paint the protective net and the accessories separately and add them at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
