Eduard 1:35 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 — mask set contains templates cut to the shape of the glazing and the wheels of a large-scale model. It is an aid for painting, not a photo-etched set.
Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive masking templates for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter in 1:35. That scale is unusual for aircraft; it comes from the name of the item, so check it against the kit you are building. The manufacturer also makes photo-etched sets under the same name; this item holds masks, that is templates that come off again after spraying.
The Bf 109G-6 is a variant of the single-engined fighter with a liquid-cooled inverted V12 engine. The version is recognized by the bulged fairings over the synchronized guns ahead of the cockpit and by the revised barrel weapons; the shape of the vertical tail surface and the pattern of the canopy changed in the course of production. In 1:35 the model is larger than the usual 1:48, so the glazing frames and the wheel hubs are markedly visible.
Clean and degrease the glazing. Lift the template off with tweezers, lay it on dry and press the edge down with a blunt stick exactly to the line of the frame. Spray the paint in thin coats; a heavy coat will run under the mask. A first pass in the interior shade makes sure the frame does not look unfinished from inside. In a larger scale it pays to give attention to the transitions between camouflage fields — borders that are barely visible in 1:72 make up half of the final impression here. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, pulling along the edge.
This is an add-on to a model, not a kit in its own right. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
