An unassembled plastic kit of the carrier-borne multirole MH-60R helicopter in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MH-60R is a carrier-borne multirole helicopter of the US Navy from the Seahawk family. It operates from the decks of surface ships and carries out anti-submarine as well as anti-surface tasks. Its equipment includes a dipping sonar, dropped sonobuoys and a radar, and on its stub-wing pylons it can carry torpedoes or guided missiles.
It is powered by two turboshaft engines. For stowage in a ship's hangar both the main rotor blades and the tail section fold, so a large machine fits into a cramped space. That folded arrangement is a rewarding subject on a model, if the kit allows it, which you will see from the manufacturer's instructions.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The 1:35 scale means a large model on which the inside of the cabin stands out, so paint and finish it before you close the fuselage. Glue the rotor blades on a flat surface so that they keep their shape, and fit them only at the end of the build. Mask the clear parts before spraying the paint. Wash and degrease the model before painting; the thinner and the thinning ratio follow the paint maker's instructions on the packaging.
The set suits modelers with experience of building helicopters who want a striking piece with plenty of detail for a display case. A large model also takes additional work of your own on the cabin and the armament well. Paints, glue, putty and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
