The Minerva is among the oldest armored cars that saw action. It arose on the chassis of a powerful Belgian passenger car, onto which armor plate and machine gun armament were fitted. It was a vehicle of civilian design, and that is why it also kept the typically automotive wire wheels with spokes of tensioned steel wire. On a model these are very clearly visible, because the armor did not cover them the way it did on later, heavier equipment.
The thin spokes call for careful handling: separate them with a sharp knife, keep sanding to a minimum and never snap the parts. Paint the wheels separately, before you fit them to the model, because getting a brush between the spokes on a finished vehicle is only possible with difficulty. A convincing result comes from a dark base, gentle lightening of the rim and the hub and dust pigments on the lower part of the wheel. Paint the tire in dark gray, not in pure black.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
