A set of metal tracks from Friulmodel for the German heavy self-propelled mortar Karl-Gerät 040/041 in the early form of the track. This is not a model but an accessory for your kit — individual running links cast in white metal that replace the plastic tracks from the box and give the running gear weight as well as the look of real metal.
The Karl-Gerät was an extraordinarily heavy German self-propelled siege mortar of the Second World War, used against fortified targets. Because of its enormous weight it had massive running gear whose track changed over the course of production — this set matches the early type of link.
The links are cast in soft white metal. Before assembly you clean small flash off with a file, join the parts with the enclosed wire as a pin and you get a fully movable track with a natural sag. The metal can be chemically darkened and weathered without conventional painting. We recommend cyanoacrylate.
The tracks are an accessory for a model and they come unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
