This variant aims at the camouflage the howitzer wears in today's Russian army: irregular fields in two complementary tones over the base shade. Compared with the angular splinter pattern the shapes have a softer outline, they interlock more and they cover a greater part of the surface, which is why the set needs one sheet more. Even a layman will see the difference at first glance.
The 2S19 series howitzer is named after the river Msta, and from the 1990s it has appeared at exercises and in action in a whole range of color schemes. Units adapted the scheme to the terrain, so the same type can be met once in a brown-green combination and another time in a grayer key. The masks draw out the shape of the pattern; the choice of the particular shades stays with the builder, and it is precisely that which gives a model its character.
First spray the whole model in the base tone and let it cure thoroughly, because the tape could sink into a fresh film. Then apply the first group of shapes, spray the second shade and only after it has dried add the rest. At the intricate places around the recoil cylinder and the grab handles on the turret it helps to cut a larger shape and lay it in sections.
