A set of self-adhesive masking templates 1:35 Object 490B from the manufacturer SX-Art. An accessory for the kit of the Soviet experimental tank, not the model itself.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks in 1:35 scale for the Soviet experimental tank Object 490B. It is not a kit, but a masking accessory for a model. The masks are laid on a part-built model and hold a crisp boundary of the spray even on the circular tire bands of the road wheels and around the vision ports, where masking tape is hard to shape.
Object 490B is one of the Soviet experimental designs for a new generation of tanks from the late period of the Cold War. It was a project with an unconventional layout of hull and turret, looking for a different route from the production machines of the day; it never reached series production. For a modeler that is interesting precisely because there is no established camouflage scheme for it: it offers room for an interpretation of your own, but also greater demands on the cleanness of the spray, because the surface is very broken up.
Degrease the surface before laying the mask on and let the base coat cure thoroughly. Carry the mask with tweezers and press it down all around with a wooden toothpick, especially where it passes over an edge. Spray several very thin coats; one wet coat bleeds under the edge. With prototype vehicles a simple single-color scheme with modulation of the shade pays off, because the shape of the vehicle is striking enough in itself.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
