An injection-molded plastic kit of the Canadian Otter light reconnaissance armored car in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer IBG Models. The set contains plastic parts, photo-etched sheet and decals. It is a modern mold with fine detail. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
The Otter was a light reconnaissance armored car built by the Canadian branch of General Motors during the Second World War for British and Allied forces. It was based on the chassis of a Canadian military Chevrolet truck and used a range of standard General Motors components, which made production and maintenance easier. Its armament was a Boys anti-tank rifle and a Bren light machine gun in a small open turret. The car was built in Oshawa, Canada, and between 1942 and 1945 over 1700 were made. The Otter served Canadian and Allied units in Italy and in northwest Europe as a reconnaissance and liaison vehicle.
A smaller vehicle with a large number of parts and photo-etched details will reward careful work; bond the photo-etched sheet with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish and paint the interior and the chassis before closing the hull. Apply the single-color British scheme with an airbrush and bring out the details with washes. Dust and mud pigments on the wheels and the underside will give the car realistic field weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
